Announcing: Axie Challenge Mode!

Kotaro’s excited for Challenges!

TLDR

• You can now send a challenge request to rival trainers.
• These matches are unranked but unlock the potential for wagers and community tournaments!

It’s our pleasure to announce the launch of challenges!

This new feature allows Axie trainers to send a challenge to rival Axie trainers.

The team used in the challenge will be hidden to the receiver.

Here’s how it works:

1. In the battle lobby, go to the team you’d like to use for the Challenge and then click “Unranked” and then select “Challenge”.

2. You’ll then be able to pick your opponent. You can either use their Axie Infinity profile name or their wallet address.

3. The request will then be sent. Your opponent won’t know which team you’ve sent.

If you’ve been challenged, you’ll see a pending challenge in the “Challenge” section of the battle lobby. To accept the challenge, select a team you’d like to use and then press “Send”.

It’s as simple as that!

We believe this feature will unlock latent potential in our battle system.

We really enjoyed the 2 tournaments we’ve held so far. During the tournaments, players knew who their opponents were which added an extra layer of fun. This required an understanding of your opponent’s collection and preferred strategies.

This same dynamic is now possible with the challenge system.

Here are some cool possibilities that the challenge system unlocks

• Challenge a friend and wager some crypto or an Axie on the outcome! For now, make sure to use a Discord moderator or Axie team member as escrow. In the future, we’ll allow players to wager through smart contracts.
• Streamers can now challenge their viewers.
• Community members can now host their own tournaments. Hosts could put up Axies/Crypto as prizes and sell tickets. Hosts could also add additional rules to the tournament format!
